No Reserve Auction Large, Antique BRONZEBUDDHA LARGE 8" TALL ESTATE: From Local Philadelphia Art & Antiques Collection For your examination is a Antique genuine hot pouredsand-cast Bronze Buddha...a large seated figure from a local estate art and antiques collection. I've included many photos for you to examine. MEASUREMENTS:8" Tall x 5-5/8" Wide x 3" DeepWeighs over 2 lbs. Estate of Orchestra Violinist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania These wonderful items that I have been selling on Ebay for the past couple of years are from a local Philadelphia, Pa. estate. This piece was part of the a collection of extraordinary violins, paintings, sculptures, silver, porcelain, and general antiques amassed over the lifetime of a Philadelphia musician whotraveled extensively and collected only the best American,European, and Asian antiques, art and sculpture. This wonderful estate piece has been in the a Philadelphia collection and will ship from the Philadelphia suburbs, not from overseas.CONDITION: The patina is exquisite and shows the oxydation and patination that you'd expect in such a piece. There is the appropriate wear; the result, I suspect, of much of handling and touching. As you can see, there are areas of bronzeoxydation, pitting, casting fissues and openings andin general, the usual wear and tear, scratches, dings, etc. that are appropriate to its age. This is an old fashioned Ebay auction...there is NO RESERVE...thisBuddha will sell to the highest bidder; there is no Buy It Now; the auction will not end early. There are no returns. I'm not an expert onAsian antiques, but this piece looks like it has some age and I believe it is late 19th century possibly early to mid 20th Century.But its a powerful sculpture that has a wonderful and serenepresense. I accept Paypal; payment to be made within 72hours of the end of the auction; I reserve the right to relistthis sculpture if payment hasn't been received. (Perfect for desk, book shelf display, coffee table, or pedestal), I've seen similar selling in N.Y. Galleries for over $600.00. This is an Asian antique...I can't say what it's origin or age is but I'd guess, Thai ( Sukothai ~Sukhothai ~ Budha ~ Buddha ), Chinese, Japanese; possibly Cambodian. I've searchedunder Buddah, Budda, Budha, Khmer, Royal, talisman antiquity, Thailand, China, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Tribal, Southeast Asia, walking, standing, monk, ayuthaya, angkor, Lord, period amulet, 17th, 18th, 19th Century Phra, medicine, medicinal, antique era Buddhism, Buddhist, Hindu~there are many opinions on this out there. What I can say is that this isa interesting piece from a fabulous Philadelphia collection of art andantiques, possibly 19th or 20th century. I'm not an expert on these sculptures but it appears to me to have some age. This could be an important piece; more research is needed.This piece is from a LOCAL Philadelphia estate (ships from here...not from overseas). Ships to the U.S. via USPS Mailand will be fully insured for free.
