Hello there and welcome to all We have found a special old character for you here! A lovely old antique pine chest which can be used in numerous ways! Please and ... Now then....if it is character you are after this is the one for you....superb markings in the wood from old worm makes this quite a unique art piece!! .....Do not worry they have only left their superb artisic design and are no longer present! :) This does have its lock ......but alas no key, sure a locksmith can sort one out for you if required ! It also has lovely huge dove tail joints ....perfect!! Inside is an open candle box ....also handy for your remotes and smaller treasures :)....just to mention...in the old days, camphor candles were used to keep moths etc away!!! Today you can get cedar wood blocks which will do the same job...there you are..... no more moth ball smell and moth-eaten woolies...lol On each side it has metal carrying handles for lifting.... As you will see in the photos, not only is this handy for storing, but it looks a treat in almost any situation! This chest is a lovely long size giving plenty of storage space and can double up as a window / bathroom/ hall/ bedroom seat or bench! For those following the antics of old Ted...well he and old pal Mickey are enjoying the lovely weather this week, and have been organising a teddy bears picnic......all the invites have gone out....including all of mrs. rabbits' ever growing family.....lol..... think we had better get on with baking all the cakes to go around..... :) In the lounge it can double up as a coffee table...inside you can keep your cds / dvds books....there is plenty of room too for your old vinyl record collection....certainly making a comeback nowadays!!! In the bedroom and bathroom and hallway it adds that special feature and can double up as a seat which will help when trying to get your shoes off instead of jumping all over the place....you know how it is we have all done it!!! Inside there is also lots of room for blankets, towels, seasonal clothes when not in use, games and toys.........sure you can think of plenty more..... This is a wonderful size measuring (at its widest) approx 46 inches x approx 19 1/2 inches x approx 18 3/4 inches tall...so a nice size with plenty of room!! Inside actually smells quite nice and not musty... had a good sniff for you (laugh) ! Now this is an old chest, and has been well used over the years, the expected bumps and knocks are present with age....as you will see in the close up photos ....there are markings and knocks here and there and cracks.....and of course the lovely markings left by the worm....we always feel that these vintage signs add so much more to the character and authentic charm of these old pieces ....! Overall a fabulous looking item which would add so much character to any home....and of course very handy too! As this is quite a size and weight the postage charge will be for courier to mainland UK....unfortunately the couriers charge extra for offshore and Scottish Highlands which seems so unfair but that is the way they work!!..we always put something towards the cost which we hope helps a little...
