Apatite (Fluorapatite) on Matrix Slyudyanka, Baikal Region, Siberia, Russia 4" x 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" / 2 lbs. 4 oz. / 1.0 kg. Large deep blue/green crystal of Apatite (Fluorapatite) on Calcite matrix from Russia. The main crystal measures 5 1/4" x 2", has a glassy luster with nicely formed stepped faces. Color is deep blue/green as the photos show. You can see into the crystal with a pen light. T is a shallow conchoidal fracture at the top of the termination that is shown in the last photo. The smaller Apatite crystal is not terminated. The matrix is Calcite and t are numerous small scalenohedron crystals. Despite the imperfections, it is still a very worthwhile specimen to buy.
