Sankaat is pleased to present for your cosideration this Scarce Delft Apothecary! Jars like this one were used by 18th century chemists and apothecaries (pharmacists) to store herbs and drugs. The front cartouche of the jars would bear the name of the remedy for "potion" contained inside. Based upon an original Continental faience example , this jar bears the Oud Delft logo to the base. This jar is in excellent condition with only a small chip on the rim of the lid (see photo). This 9 inch jar would be ideal for the Colonial Enthusiast or Williamsburg Collector who only buys antiques and fine reproductions made of the highest quality by Oud, Michelle Erickson, and Goedewaagen.
