I am listing several Figures that are early or mid 19th Century Staffordshire or late 18th Century Derby. Most have been in a large collection for many years; others on my living room mantle! Some have factory identification. Most have typical Condition Issues, which are Noted below. DESCRIPTION A mid 19th Century Statue or Figurine made in Staffordshire, England. A complex Figural Group that stands 10.5" It depicts the British Nurse and Popular Heroine, Florence Nightingale with a Dashing Soldier, who is posed with her patient. The Portrait Figure is named MISS NIGHTINGALE, molded on the base and highlighted with gold. She stands with flask and towel, while he sits regally on an ornate side chair, his right arm in a decorated sling. This figure is generally colored, with most surfaces in polychrome. It may be classified as a "flat back", as decoration on the back is minimal but the figure is dimensional. Steam Hole in mid back. Concave bottom. Faces are carefully painted in natural tones; the hair is dull black. Charming Figural Group with Good Detail . . . a Great for Display!
