Please see attached photos of a large and stunning William Moorcroft Platter c 1930's. The platter measures just over 14 inches long by just over 10 inches wide and is quite a weighty piece with it weighing in at almost 1.5kg (just over 3lbs)It is free from chips, cracks or restoration that I can see. It does have some crazing which is commensurate to age. There are some signs of previous usage with a slight roughness to the glaze in places and some unevenness to the glaze around the edges which either occurred during the firing process or perhaps happened as a result of the platter being heated to serve food ( see photos for details - please note that any white marks are from the camera flash) It does not detract from the piece in my opinion but I wanted to describe it as best as possible. This style of Moorcroft tableware is featured in Paul Atterbury's guide to Moorcroft Pottery 1897-1993 (see page 151 of the new edition book if you have one)The platter would make a lovely addition to any Moorcroft collection given it's rarity. As these pieces were designed to be used, it is rare to find one as large as this in one piece! The platter will be shipped via Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day and insured) Postage is estimated at £15 due to the size and weight of the item. If I have overcharged, I will refund the difference to the read more
