Last Victory - Winter Sturm Campaign Series Volume II Von Manstein's Backhand Blow February & March 1943 - Clash of Arms Games 1987 Complete, Unplayed, & Unpunched. The Last Victory is complete with all game components in excellent to new condition. The counters are unpunched, well-centered (even the relatively few that are off-center a bit, do not run over the counter edge), and all are in at least excellent condition with most being in new condition. The four maps are in near new if not new condition with one having a minor half inch (not very noticeable) tear at the fold near the border. Both of the rulebooks are in near new condition aside from some very light creasing on the front and back covers. The pages are very white and unmarked. The three charts are a high level of excellent if not in near new condition. The art on the back and front is in fine shape, but the boxes have some creasing and wear (see enlargeable pictures). The boxes are solid except for the 2 right side corners of the top which are split and a tear on the side of the bottom box. Also included are errata from Battle Plan Magazine #7 and some Q&A totaling 3+ pages. Winter Sturm or Winter Storm? Theatre of the Mind Games, Clash of Arms, or Vanguard Games? The Winter Storm series seems to have traveled through several publishers and some indecision about the title. Nevertheless, the system is highly reguarded and copies of Winter Storm (Vanguard Games) have sold for $180+ on eBay. It employs the Winter Sturm Standard Rules. The goal was to have a series of linked eastern front battles. Von Manstein had the unevitable job stopping the Russian advance after the crushing German losses in Russia. The Soviets wanted Kharkov, the former capital of the Ukraine, and to drive toward the Dnieper River with the goal of isolating all remaining German forces in southern Russia. If sucessful it would be their greatest victory to date - even surpassing the annihiliation of the German armies at Stalingrad! In the spring of 1943 it seemed as if the Russians had everything going their way. Duplicate Counter Option: For an extra $45 (if requested prior to sending payment), I will duplicate the 9 counter sheets onto a board stock only slightly thinner than the originals. They are not die-cut, but they are cutable with scissors. They have a flat finish and the colors are not identical to the originals. The alignment on the back may be slightly different. The duplicates, while not quite as nice as the originals, are a close match and highly functional. If you want this option, please email prior to paying so I can add $45 to your invoice. This option allows you have replacements handy for any counters that get lost or worn, or to preserve the value of your collector game by using the duplicates while leaving the originals unpunched!
