Description: This beautiful border was created in Portugal during the late Renaissance. The textile has a black cotton velvet ground, which contains scroll work and other decorative motifs, that have been appliqued in gold with metallic yarns. There are also metal sequins throughout the design, along with gold borders that frame three sides of the textile.The fabric measures 8.25" in width by 8' 8.5" in length. This border would look wonderful hung or framed and would be ideal for the serious collector of antique textiles! Condition: This is antique fabric.
