This dish has a small chip on the lid edge, see photos and description below. This is a beautiful large genuine lead crystal Compote/Candy Dish made in Western Germany ( I have two of these and one is sold if anyone is curious that had been watching the other one and I have used the same photos but added the pic with the chip on this one, and this one does not have the label, the dishes are identical). This is a new item/never used, tho possibly a display piece in an Interior Decorator store. This dish is from a close-out Interior Decorator shop, thousands of item were packed in the basement many from the 70's and newer. The store closed eight years ago and they just sold off all the stored/inventory items. Some had been display items. They had been in business since the 1950's. This is new, unused, possibly old stock from the store. The dish 13" high and top diameter is 6 1/2". It is really beautiful with an all-over diamond design, this particular dish does not have the label on the dish, but I had another identical with the label "Genuine Lead Crystal over 24% PBO Highly Acid Polished Made in Western Germany". The base looks like brass, and the piece above the actual base is marble I think. This dish is very heavy, about 6-lbs before packing. When I snap it with my finger it rings like a bell.
