You are bidding on a pristine Christopher Pardell sculpture "Unexpected Rescuer", first in the American West Premier Edition by Legends. The piece is a stirring portrayal from the Battle of the Rosebud in 1876 between the Cheyenne and Bluecoats. It depicts Chief Comes-In-Sight being saved from certain death by an unexpected rescuer.....his sister, Buffalo-Calf-Road Woman. The sculpture is mixed media-metal art comprised of bronze, fine pewter, brass vermeil and gold vermiel. The granite base, which is signed by the artist measures 12" long x 7 1/2" wide, while the sculpture measures 8 1/2" tall including the base. This is an Artist Proof from an edition of 950 and is numbered as follows AP/950 dated 1991. The sculpture, which originally sold for $900.00 in 1991 also includes a Certificate of Ownership. The American West has been depicted in every imaginable art form by legions of artists, but very few can combine realism with romanticism in quite the same way Christopher Pardell does in sculpture. The balance and perfect form of the riders on horseback, for example, demonstrate Chris' mastery in freezing a moment in time and rendering it faithfully in art. Insurance and Delivery Confirmation are included in the price. Good luck biding.
