I must begin by stating that I am nowhere close to being a camera aficionado. My knowledge of this area is limited to the occasional factoid my dad would offer when I was a teenager, and a few crash-course sessions about the technical features and historical significance of the devices -- courtesy of my buddy Mark. That being said, the following auction offers a piece of my late father's vast vintage camera collection. He was a genuine enthusiast -- so much so that he and his good friend Mark spent many of their weekends attending camera shows here in the New England area, hoping that their next gem of a living room display piece was just a day-breaking drive away. When dad passed away eleven years ago, all of his family members and friends agreed that he would want his cameras to end up in the possession of someone who could truly appreciate their physical beauty, technical capabilities and historical lineage. I have personally taken on the task of listing these classic pieces on eBay. This particular auction is for a Leicaflex SL 2 50th Anniversary Model camera, which is also labeled as "Leica Wetzlar." The item has not been tested with film, so no promises can be made that a functional camera is being offered here.
