Up for consideration is this beautiful vintage pair of cased glass cornucopias ( horn of plenty). They start with white glass with fine gold inclusions thoughout. They are then cased with a thick layer of clear glass from tail to horn. The end of the cornucopias have applied apples with attached leaves and they are loaded with gold inclusions. T is a ruffle of thick clear glass around the apples. They are simply beautiful, the gold inclusions really pick up the light. Probably date back to the 50's and would appear to be made by one of the masters of Murano (Seguso, Barbini, Barovier) Measurements are: Length : 7 inches Height : 4 1/2 inches at the talest point. Weight: Each cornucopia weighs over 2 pounds. Condition is excellent except one of the cornucopias has the very tip of one leaf broken off. You really have to be looking hard to even see it. The second cornucopia is in perfect condition. (See pictures 5 & 6 to view the damage to the leaf). They have a ground pontil with minimal scratching to the base. This will make a lovely addition to your glass collection. They are vey showy. I have had many compliments on them from people who do not even collect glass. They are not marked. This piece probably dates to around the 50's. It is a beautiful piece and will make a wonderful addition to your glass collection. Shipping read more
