This auction is for a Life Like N gauge SD7 Diesel Electric Locomotive, B&O, Chessie System numbered 1828.The Electro-Motive Division's (EMD) SD7 (“SD” stood for Special Duty) was essentially the very same thing as a GP7 except that it sported a C-C truck arrangement as opposed to the Geep’s B-B setup (meaning the SD had six axles instead of four), and this is likewise the case with the following SD9 and SD18 except that the SD9 had slightly increased horsepower to 1,750 hp and the SD18 was bumped up to 1,800 hp. While in just five years of production the GP7 and GP9 sold an astounding 3,436 units, nearly a 32% net increase in sales, the SD7, SD9 and SD18 were only marginally successful combining for roughly 700 units sold. I am selling this for a friend, so here is what I know. He has had this for a while, not sure of date of manufacture. It is brand new in the box. I tested this engine and it works perfectly, both forward and reverse. Lights also work. He wants it sold because he is not using this road name in his layout. Engine has knuckle style couplers.Shipping and handling in the Continental USA will be a flat rate of $6.95. Anywhere else, please request shipping and handling quote before bidding.
