LILAC FIESTA FLATWARE PLACE-SETTING, 5 piece MINT CONDITION ~~~ IN ORIGINAL BOX POST- 1986 ~~~ LIMITED EDITION ~~~ RETIRED COLOR This wonderful 5-piece LILAC FLATWARE will enhance any Fiesta table setting you might have. It is a deep lavender color and was produced by Homer Laughlin Co.(HLC) during a limited-2 year production run from 1994-1995. It has never been used and has remained packaged in its original box, ever since I purchased it new at Bloomingdales in 1994. This incredible set is in MINT CONDITION and just waiting for you to become the first person to use or display it. Do not miss this great opportunity. All lilac pieces continue to escalate in price and are increasingly difficult to find in MINT CONDITION. Compare this beautiful LILAC color with the vintage fiesta colors shown below and you'll see how well it goes with them. Fiesta dinnerware was introduced in five colors by Homer Laughlin Co.(HLC) in 1936 and it has been the most successful line of dinnerware ever created. Produced during the late 1930's through the 1950's, the five original Fiesta colors include cobalt blue , ivory , light green , yellow , and a bright orange-red . A sixth color, turquoise was soon added in 1937. In 1951, cobalt blue , light green and ivory colors were discontinued when four of the five l950"s colors were added. In the 1950's, many items were also produced in dark green, chartreuse , gray and rose . Finally, in 1959, some pieces were made in a medium-green during a very short production-run of 1-2 years. When the highly sought after medium-green was added in 1959, the four other 1950's colors were discontinued. Tafter, other than the limited production-run of medium-green, Fiesta was available only in red , yellow and turquoise until 1969. In 1969, the company restyled Fiesta, which was now called Fiesta " ironstone". It was now produced in only red , turf green and antique gold until 1972, when it stopped all production of fiestaware until 1986 . Now is the time to begin collecting Fiesta or to add to your existing collection. These colors all look wonderful with each other as well as with all the Post-1986 contemporary Fiesta. Fiesta ware may be with slight color variations, glaze skips, sand bumps and other minor variations. These are more common in vintage-Fiesta than in the newer Post-1986 Fiesta because of different production techniques. Be aware that t are three (3) white "saggar(-er) pin" marks on the bottom of most Vintage Fiesta pieces. These little white, and sometimes rough, marks are s not defects but are due to these vintage pieces held up off the kiln floor during the firing process by 3 small structures called "saggar pins As a result t is a uniform color glazed on the foot of these vintage items except w they rested on these pins , unlike the Post-86 Fiesta- which will show a white clay foot instead. These minor imperfections should in no way adversely influence your decision as they only add to the uniqueness and character of each piece just as fine wood funiture and flooring is enhanced by its patina. Items are sold "AS IS" with regard to minor factory flaws. I will not sell any item that has a crack in it and I will, to the best of my ability, disclose post-production defects, such as chips (flea bites or chigger bites), scratches or utensils marks. Some of these defects are further explained below. Speck - This occurs when a flake of dark pigment lands on unfired glazed pottery. This results in a tiny dark spot visible after the item is fired in the kiln. It is more common on the lighter colors of Fiesta, such as ivory or yellow. Flea Bite - A tiny chip that is not deep enough to go completely through the colored glaze. Chigger Bite - A larger or deeper chip than a "flea bite", showing the white clay underneath the glaze.
