This set contains three Lionel Passenger Cars: Each Passenger Car is part of the Madison-style passenger car series. The 2625 is a unusual car. It was produced with three different car names during its production era. For 1946 and 1947, the 2625 was produced with Irvington, Madison and Manhattan lettering below the windows. Beginning in 1948, the Madison and Manhattan cars were assigned their own numbers -- 2627 and 2628 respectively -- and the 2625 was only available with the Irvington name. These cars are the earlier production run as the windows are plain, without silhouettes. It features a Bakelite body, an illuminated interior, clear window strips and metal trucks with metal couplers, metal wheels and axles.. It measures 15 inches long. The cars were Lionel‘s top of the line passenger cars in the 1940s.The window strips have come unglued and are wrinkled. On one car the wiring for the lights is detached from the track pickup. The paint on all of the cars is faded and has chips above the windows. The original boxes are not included.
