LIONEL ELECTRIC TRAINS THE GENERAL 4-4-0 STEAM LOCO and 3 CAR SET LIONEL # 6-8864 Up for auction is a Lionel 6-8701 WESTERN & ATLANTIC RAILROAD - THE GENERAL 4-4-0 STEAM LOCOMOTIVE. This locomotive was produced from 1977/79. This auction also comes with 3 cars from the GENERAL set. We have the HORSE CAR 6-9553, PASSENGER CAR 6-9552 and BAGGAGE CAR 6-9551. All 3 cars were produced from 1977 to 1980. These pieces are used, but in excellent condition. The GENERAL runs very well in forward and reverse, there was no neutral offered. The paint looks to be decent, and the lettering is crisp. Lights work on the locomotive, passenger and baggage cars. The horse car comes with 6 horses. There doesn't seem to be any broken parts - as you can see in the photos'. The locomotive and the cars come with their original boxes. He has passed on and now his collection is being sold off. Mark me as a favorite seller as there will be a lot of 'O' scale listed and sold. This Locomotive would be great for a beginner to expand his railroad with. It runs good, and could be weathered up to fit in with an aging fleet of locomotives! - In this no reserve auction!
