THIS AUCTION IS FOR A POSTWAR #2056 4-6-4 STEAM ENGINE AND LIONEL 2046W WHISTLING TENDER THIS IS THE MATCHING TENDER FOR THIS ENGINE. ENGINE DESCRIPTION: Has a black-painted die-cast body;spoked drivers with full complement of driving hardware; ornamental bell; die-cast trailing truck;3 position E-unit; lighted with headlight lens, and smoke unit . ALL IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION ! This unit has undergone a PREMIER RESTORATION ! Please see BELOW..... ! All steps, and ladders are intact. Contact rollers show only minor wear. This locomotive has been fully tested and runs great ! Smooth and Strong, both in forward and reverse. Unit cycles correctly....Headlight works, and smoke unit puffs away! Engine has been oiled, lubed, and is READY-TO-RUN! TENDER DESCRIPTION: COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL......THIS TENDER HAS ALSO UNDERGONE A PREMIER RESTORATION. WHISTLE SOUNDS GREAT, COUPLER IS WORKING WELL, LETTERING IS CLEAR AND BOLD. THE TENDER SHELL HAS THE ORIGINAL SATIN FINISH, WITH VERY SLIGHT HAIRLINE SCUFFS, BUT NOTHING PRONOUNCED. THIS IS A CHOICE VINTAGE LIONEL ITEM.....IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A RUN-OF-THE-MILL TYPE LOCOMOTIVE.......GO ELSEWHERE ! THIS SALE DOES NOT INCLUDE A BOX......Ain't gonna make THEM run any better !! Be sure to look over all of the photos we have supplied, to verify the condition of these units. Also....you will be receiving the units that are pictured. Sometimes the photos will show a brown-orange color, especially on the polished steel parts. RESTORATION: We utilize two different types of restoration on all items that we put up for auction, or for sale out of our store. The only exception, being AS-IS merchandise, which we will always identify as such. The two types are ........STANDARD RESTORATION, and PREMIER RESTORATION. STANDARD RESTORATION: Inspect and test the unit. Disassemble and repair or replace non-working parts. Re-assemble the unit. Touch-up major paint imperfections. Oil and lube where applicable. PREMIER RESTORATION: Disassemble entire unit. Strip all ornamental castings from body of unit. Glass- blast all exterior painted parts of unit. Re-paint all with primer and three coats engine black. Re-number or re-letter with stamp,dry transfer, or wet decals. Clean or replace motor brushes and springs. Clean rotor, e-unit, whistle motor, and smoke element. Re-solder, replace, or rewire broken or frayed wiring. Clean or replace worn pickup shoes and rollers. Clean and polish all nickel trim and side rods. Oil and lube all applicable moving parts and gears. Re-assemble, Re-run, and Re-test unit or units. In most cases, we will utilize original replacement parts.
