This auction is for a Lionel Postwar O Gauge #6415 Sunoco Tank Car. This version of this tank car was available from 1953 - 1955 and is 9" long x 2 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" high. It has a black, plastic frame with stamped steps, silver plastic tank with three domes, silver brakewheel, black metal ladders, silver rails, and bar-end trucks with magnetic couplers. "SUNOCO" is heat-stamped in blue on a yellow background with a red arrow . Black heat-stamped lettering includes "CAPICITY 8000 GALS." Blue heat-stamped lettering includes "BUILT BY LIONEL", Lionel Logo, and data lines ending in "TANK". This car is complete and all original. The graphics are strong. There is no rust or cracks in the plastic. There are a couple of very small scratches on the black frame. The original box is firm with all of the flaps, even the coupler protector, attached on the one end. The other end has tape repair but it looks like the coupler protector is intact. There are a few shelf rubs. There is no extra writing. This is an extremely clean tank car and I have not seen such a bright shiny silver. This car grades to a strong excellent (C7++), and will make an outstanding addition to your collection and layout. See the pictures.
