PREWAR LIONEL JR 1700 1701 1702 STREAMLINED PASSENGER TRAIN SET WITH ORIGINAL BOXES AND SET BOXLOT DESCRIPTION: As the title states this lot consists of a PREWAR LIONEL JR 1700 STREAMLINED PASSENGER TRAIN SET in the painted aluminum and red colors made in 1936. The set consists of the 1700 locomotive, 1701 coach and the 1702 observation car. The entire set is all complete and original Post War.DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION: The set is in very good shape. There is no missing parts, colors nice and bright, trucks and wheels look fine. Typical playwear rubs and scratches, dings that you often find on this set, mostly on the roof ; the rear of the observation car and locomotive front. (remember the set is 80 years old!) as you can see from the pictures but no serious issues here at all. Again, this is a very nice looking set but look at all the pictures and you be the judge for the pictures are an important part of the description and say more than my words ever can. Does not look repainted. Not sure.BOXES CONDITION: The set box is fair with tears, rips, stains, taping. All three boxes missing flaps, have creases, tears. One flap for locomotive is present but detached.WORKING CONDITION: I have tested the set and the locomotive runs just fine, forward only, it does not have a e-unit. Lights up. No operational issues here at all.SOLD AS-IS.
