This Lionel Set consists of a Soo Line Shifter, # 8569 and 6 freight cars. The cars are # 9044 Rio Grande boxcar, #9011 Great Northern hopper, # 9039 Mobilgas tank car, # 9026 Republic Steel flat car, # 9140 Burlington gondola and a # 9029 Soo Line transfer caboose. The caboose is broken and needs glued. (see picture). The engine has been tested and runs but could use a drink of oil and a tune-up. The engine and cars are in excellent condition. They are bottom of the run O-27 cars with about half having dummy couplers. The engine has a manual reverse switch on the top of the engine. This engine and cars are from set # 1582, "The Yard Chief" produced in 1975 - 76. Shipping is based on a 4.5 lb package shipped via priority mail with delivery confirmation. There is a 75 cent charge for packing materials. The days of scrounging peanuts and bubble wrap is long gone. There is a $1.00 charge added to foreign shipments to cover the extra paperwork and trip to the post office involved. Customs fees and charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
