Up for auction here is a nice looking mid century modern art deco style bronze sculpture on stone base by French artist Charles Reussner (1886-1961). The subject matter of this sculpture is an "OWL" This bronze probably dates from the early to late 1950s. The bronze on its own measures 2 inches wide by 2 inches deep by 5 inches high and the total size with the stone base comes to 4 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches deep by 5 1/2 inches high. The bronze is signed with an incised signature right into the bronze on the side. The bronze is in very good condition with no dent or cracks and so is the base. Charles Reussner has a lot of information listed about him on the internet along with many auction listings and biographical information. He specialized in sculptures of birds. Good luck bidding.
