Los Speakers (aka The Speakers) is a group from Columbia that started out as beat/garage band and mainly recorded cover tunes in their early days. But by the time they recorded The Speakers en el Maravilloso Mundo de Ingeson , their fifth and final LP, they had developed into an outstanding psych rock group that recorded original music exclusively. Here’s some info on this album from a MySpace page about Los Speakers: “Regarded as a masterpiece of Latin American Psychedelia, The Speakers En El Maravilloso Mundo De Ingeson (The Speakers In The Wonderful World Of Ingeson ) is one of most innovative recordings ever produced in the complete history of Colombian rock, and a cult LP for collectors worldwide. Recorded in 1968, it would turn out to be the first independent record ever produced in Colombia, as well as being the first to use multi-channel recording techniques and introducing all kinds of effects, a full brass band, miniature soundscapes and compromised lyrics, resulting in an amazing record loaded of conceptual and bizarre Latin psychedelia.” This limited edition, hand-numbered reissue (300 copies made) was released in the U.K. on Angle Records in 1993. The cover is comprised of two sheets glued onto the front and the back. The cover is in Ex++ and the record is in M-- condition. (For more info on my grading system, ) This read more
