" ITEM DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION ~ This e-Bay auction is making available for your consideration a Lot of 3 unusual Masonic artifacts. Each item is equally as beautiful as the next and range in age from between 20 to 100 years with the oldest piece dating back to the early-1900s. More specific details follow: Masonic Poem ~ 12" x 15" gold picture frame with 7.5" x 9.5" blood red matt containing a Masonic Poem titled "Last Night I Knelt W Hiram Knelt." It speaks of searching for a brother and taking some sort of obligation. This beautiful piece of art was given to a family member in the mid-1980s. Masonic Emblem ~ 7" x 7" wood emblem represents the sign of a Master Mason. The original wood surface has been painted as well as stained and a small piece of the left compass tip (measuring less than 1") has broken off (see photographs below). It is very hard to see the missing tip and even though the emblem was made almost 100 years ago it still shines and looks great! Masonic Book Ends ~ Set of two antique book ends measuring 6" x 7" which again display the sign of a Master Mason. However, these particular emblems are completely encircled by ivy and stand on a brick foundation. Hum, maybe a hidden message? The felt covered back remains mostly intact and for the most part colorfast. These hard-to-find Masonic book ends have been dated back to the period of 1915 to 1925 and are in absolutely fabulous condition! ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND INFO ~ At one time these unusual old Masonic book ends were most likely the property of a Blue Lodge or Library. Recent Hollywood Productions such as "National Treasure" and "The DaVinci Code" make numerous references to Masons and their connection to early-American history. These movies coupled with a significant increase in the interest for anything strange and unusual make this Lot of 3 Masonic treasures even more desirable.
