Handsome silver-plated presentation platter with three inset compartments, measuring 18.25˝ x 14.5˝ x 1.25˝, engraved on the underside during her time as first lady, "Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower, To--Mary and Francis Hoffer, Aug. 29, 1959." The bottom also bears a W. & S. Blackinton Co. label. The platter's decorative edge features ornate scrollwork, and the center an elegant branch-like design that somewhat resembles General Eisenhower's 'flaming sword' SHAEF symbol. In very good to fine condition, with scattered rubbing, tarnishing, and scratches.
