You are bidding on an antique MARTI BRONZE CLOCK, Ser # 158 located on the back plate of the clock works. Also, t is the typical small circle inscribed tin "MEDAILLE DE BRONZE" also one script letter "S" (?) and "MARTI". The case measures 11 1/4 " wide by 9 1/2 deep by 18 3/4" tall. It is a very heavy clock at 34 lbs . The case is extremely detailed and elaborate. It is a very stately and impressive clock. All 4 feet are made up of an elephants head with tusks, and the trunks fold under for the feet. Half way up each square corner post is what appears to be a lions head with the mouth wide open, all 4 corners appear the same. On each side and the front, the open areas behind the filigree work, is backed with a form of heavy stiff old paper covered with a blue fabric, looks original. The filigree work on either side contains an urn or vase, growth flows down with grapes ? Plus other designs not known to me. Bevel glass and the Dial is porcelain - *please note* - t is a tiny chip at the outer edge at 10:00 with a hair line crack running down to 9:00. Also a chip at 2:00 with a hair line crack running to 1:00 and another down to 5:00. All hair line cracks are extremely small. The clock appears to run well and chimes at both the hour and half hour. Up in the bottom of the case is a thin wood board screwed on from underneath, looks original. read more
