Here is a Marx Commodore Vanderbuilt style windup engine with the sparking mechanism. This one does not have a number on it and lacks outside details except for the sand dome and rims for the headlight and smokestack. The engine is painted all black with good color and very few scratches. The wheels are in good shape with no rust. I wound it up and with a little coaxing it started running pretty good and shut off as it should. It is dusty and needs to be lubricated. The sparking mechanism is in place but the stone wheel looks smooth so it does not spark. I think somone oiled it because it is very shiny on the edge and feels greasy to the touch. Should work fine once the oil layer is removed. The original key is included with it. I don't clean, polish, or wax items to hide flaws and make them look better, I've had that done to me a few times and I know I don't appreciate it. I am going to be listing a lot of Marx train items over the winter so keep looking. Thanks for looking and I don't end auctions early so please don't ask.
