I am guessing the age of this to be mid 19th century but most likely - this is A LOT older - just playing it safe so please don't hold me to the age. This is one of the Buddhas that my Great Great Aunt brought back with her from one of her many visits to the Orient. The piece is sensational to say the least. It is a part of an obviously very large temple Buddha - iron gilded in gold leaf. Measures 12" high by 9" wide across the face by 8" deep - it is extremely heavy and is larger than the human head. Condition is great for a severed head - doesn't sit completely flat - leans forward a bit due to the way it was de-capitated. ***ASK QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING AS ALL SALES ARE FINAL**
