JOSE LUIS LOYA/ANA PETRA MUSEUM QUALITY ART This stunning masterpiece of art was created by an exceptionally talented husband and wife team of artists from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. Jose Luis Loya comes from the Loya family of potters--collectors will recognize the name. He has formed this piece of art with the local white clay and given it a stone-polished finish. His intricate Paquime geometrics wrap around the pot beginning with a feather design under the collar. What makes this "olla" especially striking and collectible is his innovative sculpting around his fish pattern--the designs are repeated on the opposite side. The pot is signed and stands 9.5" tall and 7.5 wide. This is certainly worthy to be in one's collection of Mata Ortiz art!
