MUSEUM QUALITY ART ISMAEL LOYA This beautiful, bowl-shaped pot was made by Ismael Loya of that famous family of potters from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. He formed this exquisite pot with the local white clay and painted very original designs in black and terra-cotta on a matte finish. The geometrics in the designs are imaginative and flawless--the amount of artistry on this is compelling. The "olla" is amazingly thin-walled--the mark of a mature potter. It is signed and measures 6" high and is 8" wide. An eye-catching and perfect piece of art for a collector! Some quotes from buyers of Mata Ortiz pottery: "excellent pottery...flawless""Another SUPERB piece from an OUTSTANDING seller!!""exquisite pot"quality piece""terrific olla!""Beautiful pot-just as described""Great deal on a great piece of pottery""Beautiful piece better than photo" It is important to know that I offer only the best art that I can find. The pieces are of superior quality; items that I would be proud to display in my own collection. My feedback testifies to the fact that the pottery shipped is as pictured or better. You might notice also that the prices are very reasonable--below dealer prices. Though the prices at the source are steadily rising, effort is being made to keep the listed prices affordable. I am pleased to be able to make this art
