The slice shows a preterrestrial shear-deformation; i.e. the WidmanstÃ¤tten patterns have been sheared and bent. Besides this the specimen has Neumann Lines, rare perthitic Plessite and many inclusions of Schreibersite. Vagn F. Buchwald writes in his famous "Handbook of Iron Meteorites": Deformation bands and shear zones can be seen in iron meteorites. When present in large shower- or crater-producing meteorites, the damage is usually attributed to the disruption and impact itself.
