Welcome to my listing for a brand new and factory-sealed Medieval Market Village lego set from the 2009 Castle series. THE LEGO BOX WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPMENT TO ME. IT HAS SEVERAL LARGE DENTS AND CREASES, BUT THE FACTORY SEALS REMAIN INTACT. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT SET FOR A BUILDER, BUT NOT FOR SOMEONE WHO VALUES THE CONDITION OF THE BOX. This awesome playset has been out of production for several years and is no longer available in stores; it is increasingly hard to find, especially in unopened condition, and would make a great addition to any lego Castle collection. It contains an incredible 1601 pieces, including eight minifigures: two Crown Knights and six that are exclusive to this set (a blacksmith and five peasants -- two different women, a middle-aged man, an elderly man, and a young boy), as well as two brown cows (also exclusive), a horse, several smaller animals, and a huge assortment of tools, weapons, food items, and other hard to find accessories. The set builds a highly-detailed medieval village with two large buildings -- a tavern and blacksmith's workshop/stable, each with living quarters on the second floor, as well as a produce stand, apple tree, horse-drawn cart, and much more! Each of the village's buildings is constructed with hinged walls so it can be opened up for access to the detailed interior spaces, or folded shut to form a completely enclosed structure in the medieval European style that displays beautifully from any angle! The antique, diamond-paned windows look out on a bustling village square at harvest time, with a grand old apple tree bearing ripe fruit and local farmers just arrived from the verdant countryside, peddling all the fresh meat, fish, cheese, and vegetables a minifigure could desire! A pair of fat brown guernsey cows (prized by farmers for their golden milk!) graze contentedly on the lush autumn grass, pausing now and again to wonder why their kind, so common in the settled realms, has not been included in any lego set before or since... Nearby, a burbling creek drives the blacksmith's hammer up and down as he bangs away at his anvil, beating into shape a pair of swords for two of the king's men-at-arms. These hardy souls, thirsty from a day spent sweating in their armor beneath a brilliant sun, have stopped for drinks at the tavern on their way to the royal treasury with a chest full of gold coins. It is a quiet, peaceful day in the Medieval Market Village, blissfully free from the violence that so often grips the Lego Kingdoms, and each minifigure is pleasantly occupied with his or her appointed task, laboring for the common good and revelling in the serenity of plastic perfection...
