Fine Meissen 19th Century teapot with twig like handle and spout and decorated with lush handpainted floral bouquets. There are applied raised leaf decorations on the lid which also features a brass acorn finial and more raised leaves by the spout and handle. It is in very attractive condition with a few not readily apparent wear issues.. The gold trim on the rim of the opening has evidence of wear ( see photo) as does the upper part of the handle. There is a small 3/16" flake on the edge of the rim near the handle and a larger shallow 1/4" flake on the outer edge of the underside of the lid. No cracks or hair lines.The white marks on the photo of the bottom are reflections. The pot is about 5 3/4" high at the handle and about 9" from tip of spout to the end of the handle.The crossed sword mark is under the clear glaze.. Please email any questions. No reserve.
