RARE METEORITE PALLASITE SEYMCHAN SLICE Meteorite Name: SeymchanCountry: Seymchan, Magadan district, far east Russia. Coordinates: 62° 54' N / 152° 26' E Date of find: 1967Type: IIE or Pallasite ( )TKW: 312.3 kg in 1967 and about 50 kg in 2004. Below are few images of slice that you would bid. Note that Seymchan is one of pallasites which doesn't need be preserved from rust, it is very stable. Make a good add to your collection! Amazing polisning work! This beautiful slice from the Seymchan Meteorite polished on all sides & then etched on two sides This slice is about 44 mm long and 23 mm wide and 4 mm thick. The weight is 24.7 gram Two masses were found in 1967, total 323 kg. It was determined as coarse octahedrite, bandwidth 2.0 mm(iron llE). T was new expedition on Seymchan meteorite place in 2004 . During the expedition t were several find of different sizes meteorite individuals. Recent find shows that this meteorite is close to Glorietta Mountain and contains numerous olivine grains!!!! Several small individuals found on spring terrace. It was a big surprise after cutting the individuals that they contain few olivine grains and shows a nice structure. Meteorite is absolutely stable, no any rust going on it after cutting. The pictures shows metal structure, olivine grains forms, It is interesting that some individuals contain olivine and other not contain olivine. Some individuals has surface with fusion crust like Sikhote Alin, some looks like Chinge, and some looks like Sikhote shrapnel. T was one small oriented individual.
