Mexican Real Photo PostcardThe photo is captioned: R. R. Station Manzanillo Mexico 1913 Strothman Photo.The photographer is Theodore Strothman.The photo itself is washed out and faded some. The postcard has a noticeable amount of warping and curling. There is corner wear. The tip of the top left corner has a small crease. The card has a truly evident amount of darkening and discoloration. The front of the card is badly stained with brownish discoloration. The back of the card has a particularly prominent amount of dirtiness.This real photo postcard comes from the Theodore Strothman collection. I have more of his postcards listed this week.Additional information about Strothman:I don't know a lot about Strothman. If you need details on how I came about the following information, please ask. After looking through his collection, I think he enlisted in the navy in 1909. In 1911, he was apparently on the U.S.S. Colorado, Musician 2nd Class (band), in San Diego and San Francisco. He was also a photographer. Many of the photos that he took in Mexico or owned from Mexico are dated 1913. In 1914, he was receiving mail at home in central Indiana. So to the best of my knowledge, he enlisted in 1909 (possibly 11/27/09) and served until at least mid to late 1913 (maybe into early 1914).I also googled him.
