George Lefton was a Hungarian immigrant who arrived in Chicago in 1939. In 1945 he traveled to Japan to set up an importing agreement, with the first Lefton China reaching the United States in 1946. Lefton imported many lovely quality porcelain pieces that were produced in Japan, these included lady head vases, figurines and birds, all of which are now highly sought after by collectors.
