Signed by the author and many members of the 8 th AF . This is a detailed and illustrated reference history of the U S Army 8 th Air Force from its inception in 1942 to the end of the war. Created to fly unescorted daytime high altitude precision bombing missions over Germany. This is illustrated with over 400 BW photographs abd a section of color drawings of the markings and color schemes of most of the 8 th Air Force bomber and fighters units. 311 pages. Tape residue on the endpapers from Historical Society membership cards. Cards now laid in. There is also a page and a half of signatures and addresses of past 8 th Air Force members from the 1975 reunion . The book does show some edge wear and rough corners. The DJ has tattered edges, corners and spine ends. Still a comprehensive history of this important unit in world war two.
