U.S. Military Combat Knife 1943-1944 World War II Era In my reserch I was unable to gain much information on this knife regarding the maker and style. How ever I do know that several different company's made knives of this type during the World War II era for the US Military. "This knife is unmarked." It looks like a M-3 trench knife. Of the 10 companys that made the M-3's, some were marked and some were unmarked, some guards on the knives were also different. The picture of an M-3 in Levine's Guide to Knives has an ink drawing of a M-3 trench knife. The guard on the bottom is straight on the pictured knife. As you see on my knife, the guard at the bottom is at an angle. Everything else is the same as the knife pictured in the book. "I think this may be an M-3 Trench Knife, but I am not 100% sure.
