A mint and original boxed, gorgeous, as new, perfect example of this sought-after model, the Commer Karrier Smiths Bodywork adapted for the full sized ice-cream van that was once an everyday sight in our neighbourhoods in the 1960's. Corgi Toys released this model (Number 428) in the early 1960's and its detailing was amazing for that time and remains excellent even today with the modern etch-made miniatures of vehicles using 21st Century techniques. Corgi Toy's rendition of the swivelling** model human "Mr Softee"inside the bodywork complete with cone and ice cream in his hand to pass through either the offside or near side sliding windows remains brilliant. As a young lad I had to have one and much like folk in 2015 "having to have" the latest smart-phone or electronic game, I remember queuing at the local toy shop as the consignment of latest miniatures arrived for sale. I paid 6/4d (about 32 pence in today's money!) for the model, and the box bears this marking in writing on one end. That is potentially the only "imperfection" on the otherwise original box! **( If you don't know this model, the miniature person inside the model can be swivelled 360 degrees to any position by rotating a chassis mounted button, see the photographs). As for the model it is absolutely PERFECT and still as it was in the early 1960's when I first read more
