PLEASE NOTE - SHIPPING CHARGES ! As of this listing, all merchandise sold by the Amarillo Railroad Museum will have shipping charges calculated after the sale. We weigh each individual order and calculate shipping via USPS Priority Mail for both domestic and international orders. Ignore any and all e-Bay shipping calculations. They are wrong. This change will save you money. We used to charge a fixed fee, but decided that an order-by-order basis was better for our customers. Thanks, and if you have any questions, please ask. NEW ATHEARN MISSOURI PACIFIC AIRSLIDE HOPPER 100-199 ORIGINAL 1957-58 SERIES 72s RENUMBERED SERIES The Amarillo Railroad Museum and Missouri Pacific Historical Society has just released a custom run of Athearn “Collectibles” Series Missouri Pacific Airslide covered hoppers. These 100 cars, originally in the 100-199 series, were built in 1957-58 by General American Transportation Corporation (GATC) for the Missouri Pacific. An identical group of 75 cars were built in 1962 in the 225-299 series. In the mid-1960s the cars were renumbered into the74 series. The cars were used for dry bulk materials (such as cement, fertilizer, flour, pharmaceuticals, plastics, powdered or granular chemicals, sand, soda ash and sugar) that could make use of GATCs Airslide pneumatic unloading system.
