This is the Monogram 1/48 scale model of a B-24-D Liberator from World War II. Although the B-24 flew faster and farther than the B-17 and carried more payload plus more were made, more press was always given to the B-17 for various reasons. The B-24 was also slightly larger than the B-17, which means that this kit builds into an absolutely huge model, with a 27 inch wingspan and a length of 18 inches!The kit was sealed when I obtained it, but the parts were making "tinkling noises" when I moved the box, so I thought it best if I open it and check things out. (This kit was made before parts bubbles were invented, and several pieces were coming off of the sprues). I have done a serious inventory and believe it has all of its parts. I bagged the small parts that have separated from the sprues and I think everything is there. In order to protect the parts during shipping, I have inserted several layers of bubble wrap between the sprue trees, as seen in a couple of the last photos. I am calling this kit 'NIB' or 'New In Box'. I have reattached the shrink wrap loosely to protect the box from any damage, but it is clear that the box had been opened.International Buyers may contact me for terms, but shipping might be quite expensive.
