Measuring 12 inches long by 9.25 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep, this superbly crafted hard paste porcelain leaf shaped dish is an exact reproduction of an original 18th century dish created for Catherine the Great! Mottahedeh has been world renown for its meticulous and exacting handcrafted reproductions of original antiques. The quality and craftsmanship of Mottahedeh's reproductions are meant to rival that of their original antique counterparts, and becasue of this Mottahedeh has received permission to create reproductions for the Colonial Wiliamsburg Foundation and Metropolitan Museum of Art . Mottahedeh has commissioned the famed Art studio of Vista Alegre to create the majority of their meticulously crafted hard paste porcelain pieces. This large dish is no exception. The fine hard paste body has been finely molded and expertly decorated (with a handpainted handle) by the master artisans at Vista Alegre (Allegre). Being in excellent unused condition, this tray would be ideal for the enthusiastic Mottahedeh collector who appreciates only the finest handcrafted hard paste porcelain!
