Up for sale is the nasal bridge and partial horn of a Triceratops dinosaur from the Hell Creek Formation dating back to 66 million years in age. The bone has excellent quality and is mostly complete. Triceratops had three horns on their skull and the nose horn was always the smallest. Scientists have found that nose horn size varies drastically and that some Triceratops had a very small nose horn possibly due to age or gender. I included the skull of a known Triceratops discovery to show this. The fossil for sale is the nasal bridge before the horn but there is still definitely some horn attached or most of it depending on how much was originally there. The entire fossil measures 12" one foot long and is very dense and well preserved. The species is likely Triceratops Horridus since this particular species is known for having a very small nasal horn. This would make a great advanced addition to any collection!
