This summer we visited the mine w the discovery was made with UV and uncovered a small batch of fantastic specimens. Reports indicate that all of the material was recovered, with the only major specimens residing in China’s Geological Museum. But that was before we arrived on scene with our UV lights. We hope to find more of this exceptionally rare mineral, as it has proven to be a desirable species for the fluorescent collector. We will be making another foray to this area in hopes of having more material before the fall Franklin show, but for now we only have this limited amount - stay tuned.... The red color is somewhat deeper than tugtupite, and equally as beautiful. This piece is an exceptionally rich specimen with coverage on all faces. Bright crimson red complements with any high-end, bright fluorescent display. The unique red shade will quickly cause this material to be another classic in the world of fluorescent minerals.
