Made by R. Murphy in Ayers Mass. Made in >U.S.A.< If this knife looks familiar , it should…..This is the exact knife designed by George L Herters and contract built by Murphy USA and was for sale in Herters famous mail order catalog of the 60's & 70's ……….This was once sold as the GEORGE L. HERTER KNIFE Its over 8" overall in length…over 4” hi-carbon steel blade…..Nice all leather Sheath..... In Herters old catalog it shows this knife skinning big game in Alaska with out re-sharpening , and was very poupular with Alaskan guides……I have examined these knives and for such a unique and simple design its extremely (razor-blade)sharp, with a thick blade (definitely not just a kitchen knife) and holds an edge longer then any knife that I have ever owned or sold (that’s a lot)……….. This knife was made after HERTER’S INC closed so it does not carry the herters name on the knife or sheath….own a piece of history….old stock, in like new condition , no box...... have at it, auction starts at a dollar!!! have a memorable deer season !!
