MUSEUM! AFRICAN-AMERICAN IMPROVISATIONAL QUILTFABULOUS! Bold and graphic, circa 1940's African-American improvisational quilt in EXCELLENT, near mint condition. This wonderful quilt comes from an African-American estate in the South. Hand-quilted all over in a primitive clamshell pattern, the quilt is reminiscent of the jazzy, improvisational music style of the era with all its energy and fragmentation.A wonderful piece of African-American Folk Art, measuring approximately 66" x 82". All cotton with a blue cotton backing. A fabulous piece that would look great in any African-American or contemporary art collection. All items sold as is. Please ask any questions.
