Musikalia Flatback Octave MandolaThis is a good quality entry level instrument with a nice resonance, ideal for a beginner and is prefectlysuited to Irish and Scottish music either as accompianment or lead. It is the larger cousin of the mandolinwith 8 strings in 4 courses and is tuned an octave lower, normally GDAE.It would suit someone who plays, say, fiddle, guitar or mandolin and fancies a change, or an instrument to take camping or to the local pub sessions. It was manufactured in Sicily by Musikalia and has a sprucetop with mahogany back and sides. It is in good condition overall and has only ever been played at home. The body has a few minor dings here and there and signs of age and there is a crack/indent on the top edge of the body but this does not affect the tone of the instrument. It has been kept in a rough wooden carrycase which will also be supplied. The only reason for sale is I have developed arthritis in my fingers and playing it is becoming quite difficult for me.
