Our Nuggets are mined in Southern Oregon in what the 19th Centery Geologists called the Klamath Peneplain Formation and is famous for producing the Largest Gold Nuggets in southwestern Oregon. The whole region was covered by seas, The bottem was capped with a huge layer of gravels and ancient metasediments contained with small amounts of placer gold. Later the area rose slowly out of the sea eroding nearly all the gravels and sediments off the top while depositing or consentraiting the Gold into rich placers found in the rugged mountain sides,creeks,rivers and valleys also leaving a thin layer of trace or fog Gold that camouflages the new Gold eroding from viens and pockets today. The early Gold Rush days found most of these rich placer deposits, we call the easy stuff, what is left is the Gold they missed or could not find and what has eroded since those days today the nuggets are farther and fewer in between.
