This stunning pin/pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration features a single, large orange spiny oyster stone that makes up nearly the entire body of the sunface. The stone varies light to dark orange in color and is set in a sawtooth sterling silver bezel. It is surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern, and the body is finished with a sterling band surrounding the stone that has been stamped, cut out, and appliqued with rows of small sterling dots. Protruding from the top of the stone is a gorgeous sterling silver sunface, complete with rectangular stamped eyes and an appliqued, round mouth. The face is stamped with fine lines and the head is surrounded all the way by delicate sterling silver feathers that have been intricately stamped with fine lines. Head is attached to the body with a link at the back. Bail is located at the top of the back of the head, and pin runs horizontally across the head. 2 1/2" long x 1 1/4" wide.
