This is a 1980 (see tag) Burntwater/Two Grey Hills very fine Navajo Rug. A beautiful pattern, with all natural tones and colors - grey, brown, white and black. It is in MINT condition with no problems. Both sides are photographed and you may request more photos via email for a better look. The size is 40" X 29 1/2", with a warp of 12 and a weft of about 38-40, a very fine and expertly woven blanket! All wool warp and all wool weft. Beautiful wools, a natural sheeps' color grey and white, as well as a deep brown and dark black. NO moth damage, NO bleeding, NO fraying, NO fading, NO holes, NO stains, NO, No, no.....MINT CONDITION! Rug lays flat and is square. Corner tassels perfect. All side and end selvage perfect. End selvage cords are a braid of two, 2-ply yellow wool yarns (vegetal dyed). Side selvage warp in excellent condition. Both sides photographed. Rug is very clean and ready to display. The waver is MARIE SHEPPARD / 1980. Marie is listed in the book American Indian Textiles (Schaff) on page 214. Marie was born in 1945 and according to the book is still an active weaver. This rug was obtained about 10 years ago from an elderly woman, a collector, out of southeast AZ.
