Powered by Auction Hawk Navy Kimono Motif Decorative Japanese Furoshiki Furoshiki are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths. This one would make an especially nice wall hanging or table cloth, too! It would also make wonderful squares cut for sewing projects. Ichimatsu is the term used for check designs like this. The fabric has a wonderful texture to it, which you can get an idea of in the closeups. This one's quite large at 46" wide and 46" long, and is a thick, high quality 100% cotton. The rich colors and texture and size make it ideal for home decor. This has a rich navy base, and I have another listed like it that has an azuki red base. You'll notice 5 different kimono, with each pattern repeated 4 times, for a total of 20 kimono. The designs are delightful, traditional scenes that give this furoshiki a wonderful eye appeal. T are also azuki red squares featuring sakura(cherry) and ume(plum) blossoms, as well as momiji(maple) leaves, susuki(pampas grass), a crescent moon and a playful rabbit. These are made in Kyoto by Hayashi San(Mr. Hayashi), who took over the business from his father, and his company has been making real, quality furoshiki like this for over 70 years now.
